Reward your Baton Twirlers Hard Practice

No matter what stage you are at in baton twirling, there’s only one way to improve, and that’s practice. But, sometimes it’s difficult to bring ourselves to practice those necessary minutes and hours. Experts in twirling batons at Star Line Baton understand that even if you love twirling, sometimes it takes a little extra motivation to log that practice time. Here are two methods you can use or adapt to get you or a twirling pupil to practice their way toward stylish, no-drop routines. If you are trying to inspire a younger twirling pupil to practice the tricks, teach them the pepperoni chart. The first thing you need to get is a poster. Then, using construction paper, make a pizza with brown paper crust, red pepper sauce, and yellow paper cheese. Once you have your pizza assembled, it’s time to add the pepperoni or whatever pizza topping your young twirler prefers, and the only way to top the pizza is through practice. Add a topping for every 15 minutes of practice, and when the pizza if full of toppings, then the twirler gets their prize of a well-deserved pizza! Another practice motivator that you can implement in your next practice is the use of a chart. Take a poster and draw a grid in which you label the columns with the days of the week, and label the rows with routines and tricks you need to practice. For example, practice categories could include: one baton, two baton, x-strut, modeling, hardest trick, and favorite trick. This way your practices have a clear aim, and you can feel both the satisfaction of a good practice and another checkmark or sticker on your poster. There’s no way around practicing those horizontals, thumb flips, or three turns, but with your goals written out to measure your progress, it becomes a fun challenge. Improve your twirling and practice habits while you add checks or pepperonis to the poster; then reward yourself with new twirling batons or other accessories from Star Line Baton and show off that perfect illusion.
