For those baton twirlers in the country that have extraordinary skills, the U.S. Trials Program is looking for you! This program selects a very elite group of baton twirlers to represent the United States in the World Baton Twirling Championships. These trials are used to select the very best baton twirlers in the country and is held every even-numbered year in different cities chosen every two years.
For those athletes that choose to participate in the U.S. Trials, the baton twirlers must successfully pass required and high levels of Movement Techniques and Compulsories to be considered to be a part of the United State’s team of the best baton twirlers in the country. For those athletes in the Junior Division, they are required to compete in Compulsories and Freestyle. For those in the Senior Division, they are required to compete in the Short Program and Freestyle.
Junior Women, Senior Women, Junior Men, and Senior Men competing will be placed as gold, silver, and bronze medalists, and an alternate will be chosen as well.
The 2016 U.S. Trials will be held in Shelbyville, Indiana at the Shelbyville High School, located at 2003 S. Miller Street, April 1 & 2, 2016. For more information, please visit the United States Twirling Association website. You can find information on hotels for those participating here.
