Colorado University recently announced that the CU Boulder “Golden Buffalo” Marching Band is searching for two to three featured baton twirler positions for the Fall 2016 semester. The Golden Buffalo Marching Band has not featured twirlers in over 15 years, but recently, it was decided that the twirlers would be a welcomed addition.
Twirlers interested in auditioning for a Feature Twirler position with the CU Marching Band should fill out an application and the following items by April 9, 2016.
- Resume of twirling/school career
- Two personal references, please include full name, phone number and relationship
- Recent digital photo in your costume
- Competitive solo level attained
- Optional video showing a variety of examples of twirling performances or twirling at home. Samples can be from high school twirling, competitions, performances or twirling at home. Team or individual performances are acceptable. Please submit to YouTube and share a private link in your email submission.
After you receive your initial application, you will be notified if you are invited to audition for a CU Feature Twirler position. Auditions will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 12:00pm - 4:00pm on the CU Boulder Campus.
For the audition, baton twirlers should be prepared for the following:
- Two to three minute routine choreographed to the music of your choice showcasing your one, two or three baton skills.
- Thirty-second fight song routine
- Interview with judging panel
Candidates should wear a twirling costume with performance hair and makeup done.
